This Sunday

15th March

Shortened Worship Service followed by Appreciative Inquiry Vacancy Consultation facilitated by Rev's Anne Aspden and David McLay

St Mary's is about people and about God. In our openness to God and to growing spiritually we are open to all people, and especially to our local suburban community. We see ourselves as a loving, serving, accepting and caring community of Christians.

Currently St Mary's people come from Paremata, Golden Gate, Papakowhai, Camborne, Pauatahanui, Judgeford, Ascot Park, Aotea and Tawa, in addition to Whitby.

St Mary's folk are especially welcoming of newcomers. In fact newcomers comment that they were drawn to St Mary's because they felt very welcome.
Our special focus is on ministry to children, younger youth and their families. However, we are in no way exclusive of others. Singles, solos, the elderly and those who feel on the margins are welcome too.

With the other local churches of Whitby with whom we work together, we pray that you will find the Christian community in our locality a blessing and of practical service.

Terry Alve, Christine Woolner, Raewyn Minnoch & Bob Woolner

Our link Parish - The Church of the Holy Spirit, Algester, Brisbane have just lost to retirement their Priests - Bob & Christine Woolner. Shortly, St Mary's, Whitby, Porirua will suffer a similar result as Terry finishes ministry on Easter Sunday. Raewyn Minnoch, whose daughter lives in Algester Parish, is pictured here hosting the clergy at her home in Whitby during a farewell visit the Woolners made to Whitby on Friday 20th February. They spent the day in Wellington as passengers on a cruise liner which was visiting several ports around NZ.
