Property Bookings - Hire St Mary's
Booking Calendar | Conditions of Hire
St Mary's was built with
a view to it being an asset for the Whitby community. The public are invited to
hire St Mary's for community and group events which are in keeping with its
primary use as a church.
Spaces available to hirers are a large foyer, a well-equipped
kitchen/dining/lounge area, a small crèche room with windows for viewing the
main auditorium which can comfortably seat up to 100 people. Two toilets (one
with wheelchair access and a baby changing table) have basins with hot and cold
water.
In the kitchen/dining area china and cutlery for up to 40 people is provided. A
four element stove, a fridge and a small microwave are also available.
The auditorium has a sound system with two microphones and stands, an electronic
organ, data projector linked to video, DVD and tape cassette players. A St
Mary's operator will be provided at a rate of an additional $25 per hour if data
projection is required.
Because of the open plan nature of the building, it is possible for only one
event or group to use the building during the booked period.

Hire fees are as
follows:
Church & Community Groups - $15 per hour
Other Groups - $20 per hour
$5 surcharge for groups over 25 people
We offer discounts for regular bookings.
A refundable deposit is required at the time of booking and the negotiated hire
fee must be paid before the key is made available for your booking. The
conditions of hire are viewable and downloadable (PDF
file).
If these conditions are not met by hirers, all or part of the refundable deposit
may be kept by St Mary's.
